**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in the design, configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of **SCADA systems**, including **PLCs, HMIs, and RTUs**.
- Support the integration of **SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, VTScada, GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk)** with control systems and databases.
- Participate in **testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting** of SCADA and control systems for water and wastewater facilities, industrial plants, and other critical infrastructure.
- Assist in developing and maintaining **SCADA network architectures, communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC, MQTT), and cybersecurity best practices**.
- Collaborate with **senior engineers, system integrators, and municipal clients** to support SCADA system upgrades and improvements.
- Provide **technical support and training** to operators and maintenance staff regarding SCADA functionality and best practices.
- Assist in **documentation, including SCADA design reports, O&M manuals, control narratives, and network diagrams**.
- Support field inspections and troubleshooting for **SCADA and automation systems in existing facilities**.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- **Education**: Bachelor's degree or diploma in **Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field**.
- **Experience**: 0-5 years of experience in **SCADA, automation, or industrial control systems**. Co-op or internship experience in related industries is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of **PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, etc.), HMI/SCADA software, and industrial networking**.
- Understanding of **control system design, instrumentation, and automation protocols**.
- Familiarity with **database management (SQL), scripting (Python, VBA), or SCADA reporting tools** is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a technical environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- **Willingness to travel** occasionally for site visits, testing, and commissioning activities.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with **water/wastewater treatment SCADA systems** or other municipal infrastructure.
- Knowledge of **cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443) and SCADA system hardening**.
- Certifications such as **CCST (Certified Control Systems Technician) or Ignition Core Certification** are an asset
