Position Summary:
Under the general guidance of the Manager - Health Promotion Programs, the incumbent will provide day-to-day leadership to the High Priority Community Strategy Project (HPCS), the Community Health Ambassadors (CHAs) and guide them in providing culturally specific community outreach, education, information and promote awareness and safety regarding community health initiatives within the Peel community.

Responsibilities and Duties: (but not limited to)
- Lead the planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and coordinating all aspects of the HPCS Project.
- Lead, supervise and train CHAs on all required tasks and to meet all program targets.
- Coordinate with Health Common Solution Labs, with community & funder resources and supports as required.
- Oversee scheduling of CHAs, coordinate all time off requests and update manager and get approvals as required.
- Lead stats/data collection and analysis for the HPCS project ensuring accuracy and providing key insights to the Manager.
- Coordinate the planning for vaccination clinics, program events, community education/outreach events, town halls, virtual sessions, including staff training and scheduling.
- Conduct site visits across all community education/outreach events (canvassing, clinics, testing sites, schools, businesses/ places of worship).
- Participate and support educational sessions for clients, caregivers, community members and town halls.
- Coordinate community supports and distribution of other wraparound supports.
- Participate in weekly operational HPCS Leads meeting, PCHS weekly meetings and HPCS update meetings.
- Order, manage inventory and distribute program supplies as needed.
- In conjunction with the Manager:

- Responsible for all aspects of program supervision through effective orientation, training, delegation, motivation of staff and conflict resolution.
- Ensure a collaborative and cohesive team environment for CHAs and Health Promotion Specialists.
- Develop and conduct health education related information sessions to community members and local businesses.
- Develop and implement communications and marketing strategies for program.
- Inform and educate community members on public health measures and reinforce provincial and regional health guidelines.
- Organize information sessions, and distribute resources through tabling sessions/events, presentations at local community venues, schools, religious venues and businesses.
- Dispel culturally specific myths/misinformation through culturally and language specific education and information sessions.
- Promote and educate the community on the benefits on the vaccination and other health related programs.
- Engage with local businesses, community groups, religious organizations, & respond to community members’ queries & concerns regarding a variety of health promotion topics and provide strategies and resources to support community wellness and education.
- Provide guidance on how to properly wear a mask and distribute PPE kits to those who need them.
- Support and educate CHAs in referring community members to appropriate resources and supports within the community.
- Maintain appropriate record-keeping/documentation, statistics and complete assigned administrative tasks as required by the funder.
- Participate in staff and team meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Adopt safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline and a minimum of three years’ experience in health promotion, health services and/or outreach in a community setting is required.
- Management/supervisory experience including administration, management and organization, program development, personnel management preferably in the non-profit, community services or health sector is required.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of community resources of the Region of Peel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly convey information in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain messaging.
- Knowledge of and experience with group dynamics and group facilitation approaches.
- Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation for programs of a multi-disciplin
