**Job Title**: Casual/Part-Time Companion - Seniors' Respite Home

**Hourly Rate**: Starting at $18/hr

**About Us**:
We are a welcoming and supportive seniors' respite home committed to providing compassionate care and enriching experiences for seniors, particularly those living with dementia. We are looking for a dedicated and caring Companion to join our team and help create a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

As a Companion, you will play a key role in ensuring that seniors feel valued, engaged, and supported. Your primary responsibilities will include providing companionship and contributing to a calm and enriching atmosphere. You will also assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation to ensure that the home remains a comfortable and welcoming space for all.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations and activities to stimulate cognitive function.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties, such as tidying up living spaces, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring that dietary needs are met and assisting residents with eating as necessary.
- Offer emotional support and encourage positive social interactions among residents.
- Assist with daily personal care tasks, including reminders for medication, as needed.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional health to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of and experience working with seniors, particularly those living with dementia, is required.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive with a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors.
- Experience in meal preparation and light housekeeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and provide comfort in emotionally challenging situations.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset but not required.
- Clean criminal reference check for the vulnerable sector.
