**Food Services Manager**

The Cowichan District Hospital Foundation (CDHF) is dedicated to bringing world-class critical care equipment for our medical professionals at the Cowichan District Hospital. By galvanizing community support, we support the best healthcare possible for the residents living in the Cowichan District.

We are seeking an organized, efficient, and experienced food services manager to join our growing team. In this position you will play a key role in supporting our community by coordinating food services for the new hospital construction site. You will be responsible for planning and organizing the installation of equipment and coordinating supplier orders and deliveries. You will also help recruit and manage a team of staff and volunteers to operate the services on a daily basis. Through this work, you will positively impact the community through the construction phase of the new hospital, and be a part of the largest community project in the Cowichan Valley.

**Key Competencies**:

- Demonstrated success in strategic thinking and project management
- Experience in food services, with knowledge of food safe policies and best practices
- Experience in managing a team of staff, volunteers and stakeholders
- Budget and inventory management experience
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Positive team player, passionate about making a difference in healthcare & philanthropy.
- Knowledge of all products and operations.
- Ability to organize training and supervise staff.
- Computer proficiency, paperwork and other administrative duties.
- Open/close the business and be responsible for staff on duty.
- Maintain stock levels and assist in ordering supplies when necessary.
- Promptly and successfully address customer inquiries and feedback.
- Other duties, as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- 3+ years experience working in a project management and/or food services environment
- High school degree or equivalent; or relevant work experience
- WHMIS and Foodsafe certifications
- Ability to work independently, as well as coach, manage, and motivate a team
- Confidence to work in a fast-paced environment and stay cool under pressure
- A solid understanding of best business management practices and strategies
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service and business acumen
- Must be willing to work on a construction site
- Must have transportation to and from site
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check
- Must be legally able to work in Canada and reasonably within commuting distance
- Relevant experience in lieu of specific qualifications will be considered

Competitive compensation and benefits, starting at $50,000 annually plus vacation, based on experience and qualifications.
