**ANALYST 1**

**This is a Full-Time position with Medical Benefits and Retirement Savings Plan**

**As an**ANALYST 1**, your main responsibilities are**:
Preparation of water and soil samples for laboratory analysis. Including but not limited to: sample extraction, standard and reagent preparation, instrument maintenance, calibration, analysis, reporting and troubleshooting.

**Key Accountability/Responsibilities**:

- Review LIMS summary reports to plan and organize your daily work, as well as follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) efficiently.
- Perform sample preparation and procedures prior to analyses.
- Prepare samples, sub-samples and reagents. Ensure samples, extracts and standard solutions are properly labelled and stored in the appropriate location.
- Perform basic testing procedures, identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling.
- Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.
- Ensure laboratory protocols are followed and turn-around-times are met.
- Standard laboratory environment
- Availability for shift work, OT and weekend work required
- Other duties as required

**You are the ideal**ANALYST 1** if**:

- You have a technical diploma, B.Sc. preferred
