The Department of Medicine (DoM) at Dalhousie University is a leading academic clinical department serving Halifax and the Maritime region, with over 240 physicians, 300 academic/community specialists across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, and over 100 administrative support staff. Our mission is to advance health through education, research, and clinical care across core internal medicine and 15 subspecialties. **Position: Team Lead, Education Office & Education Coordinator**

The Team Lead, Education Office & Education Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the department’s educational goals through efficient, high-quality program administration. The incumbent provides leadership and guidance to three education coordinators, coordinating their efforts to support educational activities across the department's undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development (CPD) programs.

The Team Lead directs the day-to-day activities of the Education Coordinators, including workload distribution, scheduling time off, maintaining attendance records, participating in recruitment and orientation, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

The incumbent is instrumental in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating daily education activities, acting as a liaison among staff, clinical clerks, residents, Program Directors, and academic faculty.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and coordinate Education Office staff workloads, scheduling, recruitment, orientation, and performance evaluation.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate education activities, fostering a supportive environment for staff, learners, and faculty.
- Serve as liaison among clinical clerks, residents, program directors, and academic staff.
- Collect, analyze, and report educational data to internal and external interest holders including the DoM, Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine, Nova Scotia Health, and professional regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate and coordinate regional learning initiatives across the Maritime provinces and support the administration of the Royal College’s Competence by Design program.
- Manage scheduling, agendas, and minutes for multiple education-related committees; ensure follow-up on action items.
- Handle routine educational program issues, coordinating with Program Directors on major concerns.
- Maintain resident records, coordinate leaves and admissions, and support program accreditation.
- Collaborate on communications content for the Department’s website.
- Liaise with key interest holders such as Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine, NSH Medical Education Services, MarDocs, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Orient new program assistants and coordinate ongoing training.
- Identify budget efficiencies and support special events and orientations.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- University degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in coordination or administration, preferably within an academic health care or university setting.
- Leadership experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro; experience with One45 is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and collaborative.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, self-reliance, and initiative.
