Vancouver, Canada Tenant Resource & Advisory Centre (TRAC) Full time

The Tenant Resource & Advisory Centre (TRAC) is a non-profit organization that provides free legal education, representation and advocacy on rental housing matters. A leader in tenant rights since 1984, TRAC’s mission is to enhance legal protections and improve access to justice for people who rent their home in British Columbia.

TRAC recently moved into a new street-level office where we hope to provide drop-in services to the public. To achieve this goal, we are hiring 2-3 Housing Navigators. These positions will require 28-35 hours of work per week at the TRAC office (900 Howe Street in Vancouver).

- empowering tenants to communicate effectively with their landlords, using TRAC’s Template Letters
- providing referrals to other TRAC programs and services
- providing referrals to other community resources
- delivering legal workshops in the TRAC Classroom

The Housing Navigator positions will also assist with front desk responsibilities, including:

- liaising with other TRAC staff and building management
- answering phone calls from the public
- assisting with data entry for reporting purposes
- distributing print publications to visitors
- generally being the first point of contact for visitors
- offering administrative support for TRAC

One of the Housing Navigators will help develop a series of multilingual Fact Sheets - adapted from TRAC’s _Tenant Survival Guide_ - that can be displayed at our new office and distributed at community events. The successful applicant will not only assist with the writing of the legal content, but also be asked to work with a graphic designer, printing company, and MOSAIC Translation Services to ensure that the project goals and deadlines are met.
