The Job Captain reports to Engineering Manager and is responsible for leading a drafting team assigned

to a project. He/she is also expected to contribute to a work environment that fosters and promotes pride

in being part of a winning team.

**Here’s What You’ll Get to Do**:

- Coordinate or Prepare embed drawings, shop drawings, material take-offs and fabrication releases for window and curtain wall projects from architectural and structural drawings or models
- Customize existing system details to meet project requirements
- Conduct internal review of shop drawings with senior members of the department to ensure that the shop drawings conform to project specifications and at the same time meet the budget and can be fabricated and installed in a practical manner
- Check the work, specifically take-offs, for accuracy
- Work with, direct, and train project team members
- Ensure adherence to project scope and schedule milestones
- Participate in developing, implementing and improving drafting standards and procedures
- Liaise with design, shop floor and project management
- Participate in quality control and testing/prove out of projects

**Here’s What We’re Looking For**:

- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or architecture and several years of experience in commercial aluminum fenestration industry
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor
- Ability to work with Revit files
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Bluebeam
- Knowledge of MS Project an asset
- Understanding of Canadian and US codes and standards applicable to building envelope systems
- Understanding of fabrication and installation processes, building science, structural, thermal principles and project administration applicable to building envelope systems
