Position Overview:
Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest CAT dealer. We are currently looking for an experienced Inventory / Parts Planner to join our dynamic team in Edmonton. As the Inventory / Parts Planner, you will be responsible for controlling corporate and branch parts and/or equipment inventory levels, mix and managing the tactical activities of parts distribution for Finning operations throughout Western Canada; maintain optimum inventory levels that meet or exceeds corporate parts inventory objectives and fulfills marketing promotional campaigns.

**Job Description**:
- Control corporate and branch inventory levels and mix to support Finning operations according to corporate inventory strategies
- Maintaining optimum inventory levels and mix that meets or exceeds corporate parts inventory strategies and fulfills marketing promotional campaigns, specifically order fill rates and inventory turns inventory performance business measures
- Manage an assigned product portfolio to attain the optimum inventory levels and mix according to corporate inventory strategies and minimize inventory holding costs and accumulation of obsolete inventory, this includes understanding product seasonal demand, managing a stock replenishment schedule, leveling inventory throughout the organization, managing service letters and preparing reports to support strategic inventory decisions
- Learn other product portfolios and assist co-Planners with their product portfolios as required
- Provide necessary inputs to S&OP process acting as Demand Manager and work as point of contact to implement S&OP outputs to control inventory spend and reduce surplus and obsolete inventory.
- Calculate and maintain the optimum corporate and branch parts inventory levels and mix for the assigned product portfolio that meets or exceeds corporate inventory strategies, fulfills marketing promotional campaigns, and delivers customer service excellence
- Effective management of the tactical activities of parts distribution that delivers optimum parts inventory levels and mix and minimizes inventory holding costs and accumulation of obsolete inventory for assigned product portfolio
- Effective working relationships with the branches and the Marketing, Procurement and Transportation departments
- Accurate, relevant and timely distribution of requested reports
- Ensure valid and reliable Infor ERP data output
- Implement output from S&OP to control inventory spend
Qualifications:
- Supply Chain Management designation preferred
- Previous experience in Inventory control, Procurement or related Supply Chain role
- Experience with MRP or ERP Systems preferred
- Familiarity with M3, specifically parts inventory functions within Lawson
- Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, inventory management and related processes
- Knowledge of Caterpillar and other vendor’s inventory processes
Knowledge and an understanding of customer and branch requirements
