Mid-East Food Center is looking for a motivated and friendly produce manager to oversee operations for the produce department within a grocery store. You will be required to ensure quality and freshness of all produce, suggest changes to inventory and pricing, and purchase supplies when needed. Being a Produce Manager monitors quality of goods and service.

You will be leading the store in all things fruit and veg, and blowing our customers away with killer eye-catching displays, top-notch freshness, and the kind of friendly helpful service that goes beyond expectation. You’ll be responsible for training, placing orders with growers and distributors, planning & organizing in-store promotions and seasonal displays, receiving, warehousing, merchandizing and managing your team passionate produce staff every day. You’ll set your sights on sales and profitability goals and lock in to crush those targets like a juicer.

To be successful as a produce manager, you should have a working knowledge of fruit and vegetables and know the difference between ripe produce and produce that should be discarded. An outstanding produce clerk should have a positive attitude and ensure customers receive an excellent shopping experience.

Produce Clerk Responsibilities:

- Create displays to boost sales of fruits and vegetables
- Manage and track inventory levels, and collaborate with other department leaders.
- Check inventory quality, purchase bulk produce based on customer demand, and provide pricing guidelines to employees.
- Produce managers also help keep the store clean, speak directly with customers, and train staff in customer relations.
- Greeting customers and assisting them with questions, recommendations and reaching for items.
- Maintaining suitable inventory levels, informing management of low stock, receiving deliveries and noting discrepancies.
- Stocking produce and rotating fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Ensuring all produce is fresh and safe to eat.
- Removing produce that shows signs of spoilage.
- Setting up, maintaining and deconstructing product displays.
- Maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment.
- Following health regulations and safety standards.
- Performing any additional duties assigned by the store manager.
