Plant Care Technician

**Purpose of the Position**:
The Plant Care Technicians primary role will ensure proper growth of our mother plants and clones, which shapes the future of every plant we grow. This role may also include assistance in other areas of the cultivation department such as grow rooms etc.
**Primary Accountabilities**:
Reporting to Assistant Cultivation Manager and in his absence the Operations Manager, the plant care technician will ensure that the clones and mother room plants remain healthy to ensure ongoing success in the cultivation department.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Execute crop care production tasks following Canary’s Standard Operating Procedures for indoor cultivation.
- Carry out day to day assignments and tasks associated with the production cycle
- Perform propagation tasks including clone care and maintenance
- Monitor and maintain the clone room and mother room environment, ensuring proper labeling and inventory tracking
- Monitor plant growth during the vegetative and generative stages, including transplanting, defoliation, pruning.
- Watering and feeding and monitoring climate control systems and following proper reporting procedures if necessary.
- Ensure daily compliance with policies and procedure including but not limited to Health Canada compliance, security and safety protocols and SOPS in all areas of production

Must have proficient knowledge in the following areas
- Self-motivated to learn and improve
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Must have experience in a Cannabis grow operation
- Must have experience in mother and clone care
- Good documentation, inventory and organizational skills
**Skills and Abilities**
Must demonstrate the following skills;
- Must be able to wear PPE for extended periods of time.
- Attention to details
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Can work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment

**Job Type**: Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 - 40 per week
**Experience**:
- Cannabis Cultivation: 2 years (required)
