**Position Summary**:
**Essential Functions/Responsibilities**:
The Technical Writer Manager is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
- Manage a team of technical writers
- Oversee, review, organize and maintain large amounts of technical writing and documentation across the company
- Design user guide layouts, creating workflows and writing the associated user guides and manuals
- Design and generate content such as user guides, manuals, workflows, integration, installation, administrator guides, API docs, release notes
- Create SDK’s, installation guides and supplemental materials for internal and external customers
- Build a knowledge base to support escalations. This includes but not limited to creating instructional videos and tutorials
- Build and maintain administration and operational manuals
- Work with customer support, training, engineering, product management and other departments to capture and update content for product releases (admin guide, release notes, runbooks)
- Efficiently and accurately edit and revise technical documentation, improving not only its language but also its content
- Collaborate with the technical writing and documentation team to develop new initiatives and strategies for documentation
- Lead multiple documentation projects from different technical teams
- Own the company style guide and drive its development
- Support the rest of the team to improve overall efficiency and efficacy
- Own project/product/department budgets, coach technical writers, and create individual growth plans for their career development
- Perform other duties as assigned
**Qualifications/Experience Required**:
- 7+ years of experience in technical writing or a related work
- 3+ years mentoring/leadership experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, English, Computer Science, or related fields
- Experience in using web-based content creation tools
- Familiarity with content management systems for publishing documentation
- Familiar with Markdown, HTML CSS, JavaScript, and static sites
- Proficiency in written and verbal English
- Excellent time management skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies
- Flexibility to adjust to work routines/schedules, as required, to meet the needs of the company and expectations of customers
**Qualifications/Experience Preferred**:
- Experience in the gaming industry is highly preferred
- Ability to read code in languages such as Go or C++
- Familiarity with writing documentation for coding (C++, C#, Java, Python, etc)
- Familiarity with writing documentation for developers
- Experience working in a multinational technology startup is a big plus
