Junior Financial Analyst

**This position is a 6-month contract.**

**Overview**

Reporting to the Senior Manager FP&A, the Junior Financial Analyst will work alongside their team in areas of financial analysis, planning, data analytics and financial report for management decision making. This position will support multiple activities within the Finance department.

**Snapshot of Responsibilities**:

- Planning and Forecasting:

- Play a key role in budgeting and business planning process.
- Take a leadership role in maintaining and improving our Adaptive Insights Planning Tools.
- Develop reports and analysis within our planning tool (Adaptive Insights).
- Work effectively with the team and operational leaders to create financially viable plans.
- Carry-out “what-if” scenarios and sensitivity analysis.
- Reporting:

- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting; monthly to include forecasts, variance analysis.
- Support presentation of information and facilitate decision making at various levels within the organization to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Help business partners meet objectives by delivering insightful and timely financial analysis.
- Analysis/Analytics
- Assist in preparing business cases and financial models for a cross-function group of stakeholders as part of the Project Management Process. Reviewing all assumptions/evaluations and update where applicable.
- Develop an understanding of major performance drivers and assist business decision makers in their financial analyses.
- Provide analytical services and financial decision support to internal customers.

- The ability to mine, extract and manipulate large data sets.

**What you bring to the team**:

- 2+ years of work experience in financial accounting required
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business/Commerce and/or Statistics/Mathematics
- In pursuit of a Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) or CFA designation required
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel (Lookups, IF statements, Pivot Charts / Tables, Concatenate)
- High attention to detail, strong organization, and time management skills
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Self-motivated, agile, comfortable in uncertainty, and a self-starter
- Good teamwork attitude and interpersonal skills necessary
- Experience with a Manufacturing ERP, Adaptive Insights (FP&A Planning Tool), or Power BI is a great asset.
