THE ROLE:
Mange the overall schedule and coordination of Backwoods Security Services ensuring we operate with excellence, with an aim to realize our mission. Provide a professional interface with the public, addressing client and employee requirements in a professional and engaging manner. Lead your team to accomplish respective divisional goals. You will be reporting directly to Operations Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by patrolling and monitoring premises
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points
- Access Control: Permit authorized persons entry to site when required. Checking site certifications, and using technology to distribute access cards
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform violators of policy and procedures; restrain if necessary
- Supervise a team of employees and report back to the Field Supervisors, and Operations Manager
- Administer, train, and maintain the use of site, and security software
- Ensure operational efficiencies and continual site operational improvement
- Capable workforce leader, able to provide site expertise, best practices, and lead by example
- Ensure proper guidance is in place to drive decisions to mitigate potential site risks
- Client communication is shared with operational leaders and team
- Control traffic by directing drivers
- Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Daily Occurrence Reports (DOR’s) and Incident Reports (IR’s) when required
- Inspect Backwoods vehicles, notify Security Coordinator when service is required
- Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
- Arrive for your shift on time. If you know you will be unable to fulfill your duties, you must communicate with the Security Coordinator ahead of time or organize a replacement
- Able to work efficiently and effectively both as part of a team or individually on site

WHERE YOU’LL BE WORKING:

- Work is located at an industrial camp near Wonowon, BC. An hour outside of Fort St. John, BC
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions when required, work indoors or in camps
- Work will be completed at a industrial site -all site policies and procedures to be followed
- Driving Backwoods truck in all weather conditions; advise Security Coordinator when service is required
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, such as driving within speed limits.
- Shifts are generally 12 hours per day; Hours of Work Averaging Agreement in place.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
- Camp accommodations are provided for this position

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

- 1-year experience in Industrial Security
- Multiple Years of supervising experience
- BC Security License
- Required certification: First Aid/CPR/AED, CSTS-09 or CSTS 2020
- Additional training -good to have: PCST & H2S Alive
- Objectivity, emotional control, and dependability
- Able to follow complex instructions, both written and verbal
- Knowledgeable about security operations and procedures
- May be required to be double vaccinated for certain sites
- Site orientations as needed and requested
- Technology Skills
