We offer competitive wages and a friendly working environment. We are currently looking for an experienced _**Full Time**_* Civil Construction - Water and Sewer _Foreman_*.
- **Job duties include but are not limited to**:_
- Facilitate daily safety meetings and hazard assessments.
- Oversee site operations with a 6 - 10 person crew.
- Manage sub-contractors and other labour workers.
- Ensure crew follows company’s policies and procedures.
- Liaising with clients and co-workers.
- Establish effective onsite communications and progress reporting to Senior Managers.
- Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
- Assist Superintendent with organizing and coordinating the daily activities of all crew members, sub-contractors and equipment.
- Ability to effectively lead, mentor and motivate crew while demonstrating team values and work ethic.
- Schedule equipment and manpower needs with Senior Managers.
Ensure all applicable environmental regulations are adhered to throughout the construction process.
- Attend project closeout meeting to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Document all pertinent project information, including site conditions, employee issues, and changes in scope of work.
- Review and submit timesheets.
- Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers and others on the work sites.
- Report unsafe work, unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries and near misses to supervisor and participates in the investigative process.
- Facilitates toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
- Complete weekly onsite inspections.
- **Qualifications**_
- 5 Years + of Foreman experience in the civil water and sewer construction industry
- Class 5 driver’s license required
- Experience operating excavators, graders and loaders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to delegate responsibility
- Promote and instill a safe working environment
- Oversee and work with teams
- Being able to work at a high standard
- Goal orientated and positive and professional attitude
- Leadership and negotiation
- Liaising with clients and co-workers
- Basic surveying skills
- Stress management and problem solving
- Understanding blue-prints, sketches, and drawings
- Effective and efficient time management skills
- _**Leadership for Safety Excellence, Ground Disturbance Level 2, Confined Space, First Aid CPR, H2S and CSTS an asset but will provide training.**_
