As an Election Clerk in the Elections Calgary office, you will support the delivery of the 2025 General Election. These positions will start in July 2025. Election Clerks will be hired in several different areas. Primary duties will include:
- HIRING (Up to 20 positions)
- Schedule election worker training.
- Update databases with information received from the public or voting facilities.

MAIL-IN BALLOT (Up to 14 positions)
- Work with project leads to print, assemble, and distribute mail-in packages.
- Process and verify returned mail-in packages for completeness.
- Data entry of mail-in ballot information into election management system.

CALL CENTRE (Up to 18 positions)
- Respond to questions from Election Workers and the public based on prepared scripts.
- Direct calls as needed to internal staff.
- Update databases with information received from the public or voting facilities.
- Monitor, respond to, create, and triage various call centre tickets and 311 service requests.

FACILITIES (Up to 7 positions)
- Conduct in-person facility inspections at locations across the city (requires the use of personal vehicle).
- Assist with facility rental contracts, payments, and election material delivery.
- General coordination of specialized voting services (care facilities, shelters).
- Collate Election materials, including printing, photocopying, filing, sorting, and packing and distributing supplies.

In addition, all Election Clerk positions will complete other election-related duties as needed.

**Qualifications**
- A completed High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED).
- At least 1 year of elections or related experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven customer focus.
- Demonstrated reading/comprehension skills along with basic mathematics skills, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
- The following will be considered as assets:

- Experience in a municipal environment,
- Elections-related experience,
- Customer service or public service experience,
- Office administration experience,
- Data entry experience,
- Hiring or recruitment experience,
- Call centre or reception experience,
- Proficiency in more than one language, or
- A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) and the use of a personal vehicle for work.

**Pre-employment Requirements**
- A security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Pay Grade 4 $28.82 - 38.51 per hour
- Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
