Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world.

The Port Colborne Refinery was also commissioned 100 years ago on the shore of Lake Erie. Raw materials and finished products from Vale’s Sudbury and Newfoundland and Labrador operations are transported to Port Colborne for processing.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a Process Operator to join our Refinery in Port Colborne, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

As a Process Operator you will be assigned at one of three distinct operating plants on the site, in which you will operate and monitor process conditions to meet product quality specifications and you will work with machinery and equipment as part of a larger operation that processes and packages cobalt, precious metals, and nickel. Additionally, in this position you will:

- Be committed to Safety
- Participate fully in the Vale Production System (VPS)
- Be required to work on shifts
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Follow the company’ health, safety and environment policies and procedures, and any applicable legislation and regulations.

**About You**

**Education**:

- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 1 year experience in industrial setting.
- Experience working in a chemical plant environment is considered an asset.
- Experience working with packaging equipment, forklifts, inventory, shipping and logistics will also be an asset.

**Skills**:

- Knowledge on heavy equipment.
- Knowledge on safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Knowledge on ISO programs.
