We are seeking a Junior Construction Site Superintendent for low-mid rise construction. You will be responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple construction sites, from planning to completion.
The duties of a Junior Construction Site Superintendent will vary; however, you can expect to be responsible for daily scheduling, budgeting, inspections with the city/township, supervising all activities and tasks, ensuring the safety and compliance of the site. You must also be able to read and understand architectural/structural plans, understand building processes, fire rating, familiar with part 3 and part 9 of the OBC, problem solving skills, communication skills and organization.
**Responsibilities**
Superintendent's duties shall include, without limitation, the following:
- Consult and advise Senior Site Superintendent on all aspects of the project including other consideration of alternatives construction materials, procedures of trades in the pre-construction and construction phase;
- Consult with Senior Site Superintendent in connection with the preparation of budgets, reports, schedules, evaluations, cost estimates, bid packages in connection with the selection of contractors, materials, and issuance of permits;
- Manage the entire construction from start to finish, including any employees, all trades and sub-trades
- Attend weekly meetings with Senior Site Superintendent and project team
- Complete all take offs and order all materials
- Respect approved budget and timelines including the completion of landscape
- Ensure that ALL inspections are completed and documented (including photos), and uploaded to server
- Establish and maintain a great working relationship with subtrades/engineers/project team
- Ensure that all work is performed in good workmanship and have met the OBC
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Keep a daily log of site conditions
- Ensure all safety precautions are met as per the OHSA
- Ensure all trades people follow COVID 19 regulations as outlined by the Government of Canada
**Requirements & Skill**:
- Proven experience as a Jr Construction Site Superintendent or other similar role
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment
- Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and understand architectural/structural drawings
- Excellent organizational & leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
- Aptitude in math
- Good problem solving abilities
- Good physical condition & stamina
- High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter, etc)
**Education**:
- Secondary School (required)
- Relevant Diploma (preferred)
**Language**:
- English (required)
- French (preferred)
**License**:
- Drivers License (required)
**Certifications**:
- WHMIS
- Fall Arrest
- First Aid (preferred)
**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
