**The Opportunity**
The New Westminster Overdose Community Action Team (NWOCAT) is a collaborative committee established in 2018 to address the overdose crisis in New Westminster. NWOCAT brings together people with lived and living experience of substance use, non-profit organizations, municipal representatives, health professionals, educators, and other service providers. This multidisciplinary team develops and implements local strategies to prevent overdose deaths, improve care, and reduce stigma related to substance use.
**In this role, you will**
As Project Coordinator, you will work within an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement action plans, monitor project progress, support evaluation, and report outcomes. The role involves active collaboration with stakeholders-including individuals with lived experience and service providers from various sectors-to create effective, community-based solutions to the overdose crisis.
**What You'll Do**
- Develop and implement action plans for NWOCAT initiatives
- Monitor and ensure project progress and notify the team of delays or risks in a timely manner
- Conduct asset mapping and gap analysis of services provided in New Westminster
- Ensure all projects are on track; CAT notified of delays/risks raising in a timely manner
- Develop the NWOCAT Strategic Plan with a focus on sustainability
- Create a Communications Strategy and coordinate anti-stigma events in partnership with the Peer Coordinator and people with lived or living experience with substance use
- Coordinate monthly CAT meetings (including administrative tasks)
- Maintain existing partnerships and facilitate new collaborations
- Identify and pursue additional funding for the implementation of opioid overdose related projects by writing and submitting grant proposals
**What We Are Looking For**
- Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Community Development, Business or related field, and/ or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in project management, community development and engagement, population health, community capacity building, program evaluation, community health and well-being, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Experience working with diverse populations and multiple stakeholders including people with lived and living experience with substance use
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver outcomes on time and within budget
- Skilled in facilitating multi-stakeholder collaborative initiatives with cultural safety and humility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills for managing multiple projects and tasks
- Availability for evening and weekend work as required

- Valid First Aid Certificate (Basic Emergency First Aid with CPR-A or equivalent)
