**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will supervise, train and motivate employees to maintain employee safety and meet quality standards, production goals, efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
About Protenergy Natural Foods Corp.
Our plant is located in Richmond Hill, Ontario operating 24/7 with 2 shift patterns. The Production Supervisor will be primarily be supporting the night shift, hours of operation for night is 7pm - 7:30pm.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:_
- Leading role in ensuring a safety-first culture through actively supporting the site’s health and safety program and ensuring health and safety is a top priority
- Supervises production activities
- Reviews production schedule and ensures that staff and equipment are set up and prepared to meet production requirements
- Review hourly timesheets and approving hours for all permanent and temporary employees
- Ensures the approved level of staffing per production requirements is utilized, including planning and approvals of vacation requests
- Takes a proactive leadership role on all employee related matters, including training and development, performance management, etc.
- Analyzes, develops and implements optimal process design solutions
- Recommends and tests new equipment and train employees on usage
- Leads cross functional teams towards continuous improvement goals
- Monitors and analyzes production results (efficiency, food quality, labour costs, etc.) and suggest improvements on a continuous basis
- Provides recommendations to Plant Leadership Team on process/efficiency issues
- Assist Production Manager in documenting plant performance against operating metrics, standards, and goals
- Monitors compliance against plant safety regulations and housekeeping practices, and ensures a safe operational environment by monitoring compliance
- Provides direction/coaching to employees
- Adheres to established GMP’s and SOPs. Assist in the creation of new policies or procedures as required
- Leads team in High Performing Work Systems and Lean Manufacturing
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, Experience and Education:
- Strong computer skills including knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office and preferably SAP experience
- Possess ability to deal easily and effectively with all levels of personnel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational/time management skills
- Self-motivated with strong multitasking, analytical thinking, problem solving and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively present information in verbal exchanges with various departments
**Education**:
- High School or equivalent
Minimum Experience Preferred (Number of years and type):
- 2 to 3 years of leadership experience within food manufacturing required
- Previous experience with aseptic packaging an asset
Travel Requirements:
Less than 10%
