Interior Design Associate

We are seeking a talented **Part-Time Design Associate** (approx. 30 hours/week) to join our team. Reporting directly to the owner, this position involves working both on the showroom floor and in clients’ homes. As a key member of the team, you’ll contribute to our success through your passion for design, customer service, and problem-solving. **Responsibilities**
- **Customer-Focused Sales**:

- Maintain store sales by providing quick, gracious, and efficient service.
- Promote design services, including in-store and in-home consultations, to enhance the customer experience.
- Build rapport with customers through expert product knowledge and interpersonal skills.
- **Design Expertise & Services**:

- Provide creative furnishing and design solutions tailored to client needs.
- Create visual presentations using Canva design boards to communicate design concepts.
- Assist with space planning, layout design, and furniture arrangement recommendations.
- Conduct on-site measurements to ensure design accuracy and functionality.
- Prepare and present quotations for clients’ projects.
- **Collaboration & Teamwork**:

- Foster lasting customer relationships through clienteling and outreach.
- Communicate efficiently with company associates and external business contacts.
- Support pricing and store upkeep, such as unpacking products and managing waste removal.
- **Other Duties**:

- Assist with lifting items up to 50 lbs (with team support when required).
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and professional showroom environment.

**What You’ll Bring**
- **Strong design and sales skills**: 6+ months of competitive sales or design experience preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to build and maintain a client base using strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Canva for visual boards.
- Experience in space planning, on-site measuring, and preparing project quotations.
- Familiarity with retail systems—we use Lightspeed retail.
- Time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
