Here's how a(n) Design Construction Manager, Healthcare for our Edmonton Buildings office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:
- Leads a team to secure new healthcare and hospital work by participating, providing leadership and oversight of core pursuit/preconstruction team to contribute to the estimate, proposal, and presentation.
- Creates and influences safety culture as a mentor and role model.
- Oversees project(s) planning and execution to ensure construction is as per design, budget, and schedule.
- Understands healthcare client drivers and needs to offer proposals for functionality, cost, and/or schedule benefit to the client while maintaining value-added outcomes as part of our solution provider service.
- Oversees and monitors project performance for safety and environment, quality, schedule, cost management, work force, materials, and equipment utilization.
- Identifies risk and opportunity areas, and develops and implements mitigation plans.
- Manages or provides support for management of project team, client representative, consultant, and trade contractor relationships.
- Supervises, directs, coaches, trains, and mentors project team, including direct and indirect reports to this position.
- Influences the selection, onboarding, and placing of staff to assigned project(s).
- Oversees change management process and manages large changes and disputes as it relates to design and/or construction of healthcare facilities.
- Oversees pre-commissioning or commissioning as it relates to design and/or construction of healthcare facilities.
- Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or related discipline is required.
- 20+ years of progressive construction experience with an extensive healthcare portfolio including project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, and safety and quality management practices for large, complex, and diverse healthcare projects.
- Experience with diverse project types, delivery and construction methods, and sequencing and timelines.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, including specific understanding of healthcare and clinical user groups.
- Effective verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated strategic acumen for business priorities.
- Experience working with operations management to assemble and lead a high performing project team.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing others and many construction project facets, including multiple scope coordination.
- Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
- Superior relationship management with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers, leading to negotiated or repeat work.
PCL combines numerous pay and benefit strategies to provide comprehensive and competitive compensation packages, the focus of which is to reward personal performance, merit and effort. PCL combines flexible benefits with case compensation to provide total compensation to PCL employees. The total package includes an annual performance bonus, annual salary adjustment, share ownership, pension contribution matching, health care coverage, flexible spending programs and relocation assistance (if applicable).
The salary range for this position is $127,500 to $165,900 based on experience and qualifications.
