Nestled within the beautifully restored Rosemead House, Janevca is a boutique fine-dining destination in Esquimalt — part of the celebrated Rosemead House project. Led by Chef Andrea Alridge, a Top Chef Canada finalist, the kitchen marries tradition with innovation through a wood-fire cooking concept that elevates seasonal, globally inspired dishes in a striking heritage setting.

As a Cook specializing in wood-fire grilling, you’ll play a key role in preparing elevated dishes like steaks, pizzas, and grilled proteins, working closely with Chef Andrea and her award-winning culinary team. Your expertise and passion for fire-driven cuisine will directly shape Janevca’s signature dining experience.

We are hiring for the following positions, to be filled immediately:
**Location**: Janevca, Esquimalt BC

**Start Date**: As soon as possible

**Compensation**: $24-28 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

**What You'll Do**
- Operate and maintain Grillworks and wood-burning ovens for cooking meats, vegetables, pizzas
- Execute dishes with precision in timing, temperature control, and plating under pressure
- Assist with ingredient prep, service coordination, and cross-training across cooking stations
- Work collaboratively with line cooks, chefs, pastry, and front-of-house teams for seamless service
- Maintain consistent cleanliness and food safety standards

**What We're Looking for**
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality, with hands-on wood-fire/ grill exposure
- Strong knife skills, culinary technique, and awareness of high-end plating standards
- Adaptability and composure in a fast-paced, fire-forward environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for working with quality ingredients and sharing culinary inspiration with guests
