The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Human Resources & Safety Coordinator to fill a maternity leave position and join our team In this role, you will support areas such as recruiting, performance management, occupational health & safety programs, and WCB.

The Team

The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager.

**Responsibilities**

The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator will require to complete the following but not limited to:

- Complete full cycle recruiting function for hourly and salaried staff positions
- Lead and support the Health and Safety program
- Create, amend, and enforce company policies
- Support employee development and improvement through training, communication, and performance management
- Respond to all employee relations issues
- Complete all administration duties for the HR department
- Act as the lead for payroll and benefits administration
- As well as other duties as assigned to assist with team requirements

This position is 50% Human Resources and 50% safety-related.

**Qualifications**
- Completion of Post-secondary education in a relevant Human Resources related field
- 1-3 years of Human Resources and Safety experience is preferred
- Experience with the construction/electrician trade is considered an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- A strong understanding of current human resources legislation
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to keep information very confidential.
- A very high level of integrity
- Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
- Proficiency with Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other database systems
