Animal Care Assistant/reception

Working in a small clinic is a benefit to those who want to have hands-on experiences in many active cases with the opportunity to thoroughly learn the diagnosis process within the animal field. It allows you to build relationships with both pet parents and the pets themselves. We are looking for someone motivated and is able to work on their own or with the team.

**Responsibilities**

This position requires a desire to learn new information and ability to explain information to clients. Along with, but not limited to, dispensing medication, holding/restraining animals for procedures, answering calls, booking appointments, assisting the veterinarian with daily tasks and relaying to clients results/proposed treatment plans.

**Qualifications**

Experience working with animals is ideal but not required. We are willing to train. Since you will be working with animals it is expected that you enjoy being around animals without fear. Being fluent in written and spoken English is necessary and knowing Portuguese is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

COVID-19 considerations:
Customers are expected to wear a mask in clinic. Contact surfaces are regularly cleaned. Owners are still expected to wait outside the clinic while their pet's appointments are in progress. Staff is expected to wear a mask while owners are in the clinic.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- York, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
