As a member of Protective Services, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the community. Balancing empathy with authority will be key as you ensure security and well-being at the facility. In this role, you will handle complex and sensitive situations, working proactively to resolve issues while collaborating with clinical teams and other stakeholders. Your teamwork and influence will contribute to a positive safety culture within the hospital. As the first to respond to security incidents, you will require exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to manage high-pressure situations effectively. Your ability to connect with others with compassion will help defuse conflicts, ensuring a secure and respectful environment. **Required Qualifications**:
High School diploma or equivalent. Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks program). Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence. Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minute, within 6 months prior to commencing employment.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Active or eligible to become a Community Peace Officer appointment by Alberta Solicitor General. Alberta class 5 operator’s license, or a provincial equivalent, with no more than four demerits and no charges or pending suspensions. Current Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
