The Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre serves as a critical healthcare hub, offering a wide range of services, including acute care, continuing care, and mental health support, all with a focus on patient-centered care. As a member of the Protective Services team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the surrounding community. Your ability to balance empathy with authority will be key as you ensure the security and well-being of everyone at the facility. In this role, you will handle complex and sensitive situations, working proactively to resolve issues while collaborating closely with clinical teams and other stakeholders. As the first to respond, you will need exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage high-pressure situations. **Required Qualifications**:
High School diploma or equivalent. Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks program). Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence. Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minute, within 6 months prior to commencing employment.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Alberta class 5 operator’s license, or a provincial equivalent, with no more than four demerits and no charges or pending suspensions. Current Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
