**About the role**
As a Principal, Enterprise Risk Management (Principal, ERM) you will be responsible for advancing the development of the enterprise risk management program and its integration throughout CDIC. You will be working closely with senior leadership, the position will ensure critical strategic and enterprise emerging risks are identified, evaluated, measured, mitigated, monitored, managed, and reported according to the enterprise risk management framework.

- Provides strategic input to CDIC’s Corporate Plan, strategy and initiative development from a risk perspective.
- Leverages ERM output in contributing to the development of CDIC’s strategic and operational plans designed to advance CDIC’s achievement of its mandate while appropriately mitigating risks.
- Monitors and reports on the status and the effectiveness of CDIC’s strategies and operational plans and initiatives utilizing an appropriate performance measurement framework.
- Provides authoritative advice and recommendations to the Chief Internal Audit and Risk on issues within the ERM mandate. Supports the Chief Internal Audit & Risk in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ERM strategy in line with the organizational strategy, designed to enhance the existing services while proactively identify opportunities for new service offerings.
- Refines and evolves the enterprise risk management framework by closely collaborating with key stakeholders, thus embedding it into the organizational culture.
- Ensures the organization's risk management policies and processes are in compliance with applicable regulations and strategic imperatives of the Corporation.
- Supports the Chief Internal Audit & Risk in developing and maintaining the standards and best practices relating to ERM and effectively implements them throughout CDIC, including continuous improvement and development of strategic program elements, such as: Risk Appetite and Risk Appetite Statements, Risk Governance, Mitigation Strategies, Key Performance Indicators-Key Risk Indicators-Key Control Indicators, Key & Enterprise Emerging Risks.
- Leverages the network of risk professionals at other Crown corporations and other organizations such that best practices can be shared and reflected CDIC’s ERM program and risk mitigation strategies.

**We trust you will bring your expertise**
- University degree with acceptable specialization in Business, Finance or Risk Management.
- 7+ years’ experience in enterprise risk management.
- 5 years’ experience in program management (Program or project management certification an asset).
- Professional designation in risk management with preferred specialization in Enterprise Risk Management (CRM-E or RF-E).
- Experience within a Management Consulting firm is considered as an asset.
- Knowledge of due diligence, management systems and corporate reporting.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal regulation framework and risk management best practices in Canada and internationally.
- Proven leader and strategic thinker.
- Experience in developing and implementing institutional policies and procedures.
- Extensive experience in multi-stakeholder consultations and facilitation.
- Excellent verbal and written skills; intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Strong analytic skills, and the ability to aggregate and analyze quantitative and qualitative data; intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
