- Grade 12 diploma and related experience or five (5) years’ experience driving DZ vehicles. Preference will be given to those applicants who have prior experience driving a dump truck or other similar equipment
- Ability to operate tandem and single axle trucks for road maintenance and construction
- Previous experience in the operation of heavy equipment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, as required
- Proven communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge and training under the _Occupational Health & Safety Act_
- Ability to complete tasks involving heavy pushing, pulling and lifting on a regular basis and work in an uncontrolled environment
- Proof of valid class 'DZ' Ontario driver’s license and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required.

The current rate of pay for this position is $25.15 per hour, as per Band 6 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement. Compensation also includes a competitive benefit package and membership in OMERS, a defined benefit pension plan.
