**Position**:Part-time Kitchen Cook & Assistant

**Position Reports To**:Food Services Manager

**Location(s)**:133 Simcoe St. South

**Hourly Pay Rate**:From $18.13 up to $21.61 over 5 grids (as per Collective Agreement)

**Shift Coverage Times**:35 hours average per week

Some flexibility is required, including emergency coverage.

Public and Statutory Holiday coverage

**Purpose of Position**:As a team member of the Kitchen Program this position is responsible to assist in the preparation of nutritious meals for shelter, housing, and halfway house programs.

**Qualifications**:Successfully complete and provide an original Police Record Check (CPIC).

**Experience**:Must have experience preparing and serving meals, cleaning and maintaining a kitchen program and following public health guidelines. Proactive, able to multi-task and prioritize according to daily client meal preparation needs.

**Education**:Food Safety Certificate, WHMIS.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
1) Food preparation as required for each meal and snacks.

2) Receive stock, maintain, and assist with organizing food inventory.

3) Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.

4) Telephone orders for all kitchen supplies as requested.

5) Assist in serving meals required in the daily shift routine.

6) Use of kitchen utensils and equipment necessary for food preparation, serving, and cleanup.

7) Ensure any special dietary considerations are met.

8) Ensure a properly sanitized kitchen facility and provide safe and hygienic food preparation and clean up according to Public Health Standards and CCA Kitchen policies and procedures.

9) Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, kitchen sinks, counters, dining room tables, and empty garbage.

10) Must maintain vigilance in practicing safe work procedures and environment of health and safety.

11) Maintain confidentiality of client information.

12) Assist with other duties as assigned.

Pay: $18.13-$21.61 per hour
