**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and mixing ingredients as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
- Participate in menu planning and suggest new dishes based on seasonal ingredients.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience cooking in a childcare, school, or institutional setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the classroom educators
- Food Handler’s Certificate (required)
- Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB Test

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare balanced meals and snacks in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide
- Accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food storage areas
- Receive, and store food supplies and inventory
- Maintain accurate food production and inventory records
- Collaborate with centre staff to ensure mealtimes run smoothly
- Follow all health and safety regulations and policies

Pay: $20.00 per hour
