**Who We Are**
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is the professional organization of over 13,500 teachers employed in PreK-12 schools in Saskatchewan. **What is the Role**
The Communications Coordinator works in a collaborative environment and coordinates, oversees and administers a wide variety of communications-related activities on behalf of the Communications unit and the Managing Director, Public Relations and Communications. This position will support and contribute to the overall delivery of the communications strategy, campaigns and promotional events.

**What You Will Do**
- Assist the communications team in implementing a communications strategy designed to further organization objectives.
- Assist the work unit by carrying out a wide range of activities such as drafting reports, contracts, and other documentation for review by work unit leader.
- Coordinate and support the development of the quarterly publication, Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Bulletin.
- Monitor analytics and support creation of reports to measure campaigns and strategies.
- Support the planning of press conferences and other promotional events to help keep the organization top of mind.
- Coordinate volunteers, support staff, vendors and more to support promotional events.
- Perform outreach to media, education sector partners and stakeholders to create brand awareness and knowledge of the organization.
- Coordinate the preparation and distribution of communications with members, reports and all other documents or materials related to member communications.
- Ensure adequate and timely support for communications staff projects, campaigns and daily tasks.
- Provide support to the Senior Advisor, Government Relations for special projects as required.
- Support the budget and planning processes as required.
- Take the lead on projects as designated by the Managing Director, Public Relations & Communications and Manager, Communications.
- Prepare and proofread correspondence, drafts, meeting documentation, reports and publications.
- Create and maintain work unit procedural manuals.
- Provide general clerical assistance and coverage related to the work of the unit as assigned.

**What You Will Bring**
- Successful completion of a one-year business course combined with 3-4 years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a communications or marketing environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- Superior interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of member service and response.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple and competing initiatives and consistently meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organize own work and produce effective results.
- Demonstrated initiative in undertaking assignments and completing work.
- Superior proofreading skills.
- Superior interpersonal and member service skills in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, members, stakeholders and partners.
- Ability to operate independently with general direction and manage tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to think critically and analytically.
- Good judgment in making decisions in light of established precedents and resourcefulness in handling new situations and problems.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.

**What You Can Expect**
We offer a salary range of $48,588 - $60,720, a 35-hour work week plus a full range of benefits, including extended health care; retirement plan; group life insurance; generous vacation package; sick leave; long-term disability and paid leave to deal with family, health and sickness and compassionate situations.
