**THE POSITION**
The **_Quality Technician_** is a methodical, detailed oriented, and creative professional responsible for executing on daily quality related tasks to maintain high standards and will support process improvements in manufacturing operations.
**HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT**
- Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Prepare and review quality documentation, including non-conformance reports (NCR), first article inspections (FAI), and Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
- Support calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Identify non-conforming products or processes and report issues to relevant team.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Assist in the preparation and submission of quality documentation, such as PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEA.
- Monitor and analyze statistical process control (SPC) data to ensure consistent product quality.
- Investigate non-conforming products and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct and support internal audits to maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and resolve quality issues.
- Track and report on quality performance indicators, including defect rates and customer complaints.
- Support customer complaint resolution by participating in root cause analysis and implementing 8D reports.
- Provide technical support to the production team to address quality-related issues on the shop floor.
**WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE**
- Education: BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years of related quality experience.
- General familiarity of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and methods (e.g., ISO 9001, SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
- Extensive background in manufacturing processes and practices.
- Experience in manufacturing processes for electronics, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma process improvement is considered an asset
- Computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solid Works or similar CAD software.
- General knowledge of various materials and properties used in processes such as plastics, metal fabrication, rubber, castings, stampings, etc.
- Work well under pressure and under tight timelines.
- High level of organizational skills, detail oriented, and analytical.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- An energetic, diligent work ethic and able to work with little supervision.
