**SUMMARY**:
The Component Insertion Machine Surface Mounting Specialized Operator installs and sets up machines for production as per the Sequence List, Traveller, Drawings, part List and Operation Breakdown Sheets as required for assembly or as per provided information.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Enters component coordinates by using instructions prepared by the production engineering.
- Inserts components by using automated insert machines and complex work instructions and drawings.
- Applies solder paste on board using proper screen or stencil.
- Operates all machines (surface mount) in the area and automated pick occasionally and place equipment.
- Put boards in convection ovens. Checks boards and the final product to ensure that components are well placed; writes required quality report(s) and performs repairs and modifications if required.
- Performs regular machine maintenance and clearing.
- Cross-checks parts with drawings and process sheets.
- Detects machine problems and reports defects to the Supervisor.
- Co-operates with the engineering Department for program testing, problem solving, etc.
- Hand-assembles and solders complex P.C.B. by using Assembly Drawings or Operations Breakdown Sheets.
- Assembles and solders components on printed circuit boards including surface mounted components and removes them using appropriate repair equipment as per applicable quality criteria.
- Sometimes is responsible for giving instructions and managing work of one (1) or two (2) helpers.
- At all time, ensures the quality of the tasks performed as per set standards.
- Performs any other related tasks as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in surface mount P.C.B. repair and modification.
- Use of fairly complicated and variety of precision measuring instruments.
