APEX is currently looking for a PS Executive to support the APEX Vision in the role of **APEX Executive - Chief Operating Officer**.

We are seeking an organized and methodological executive, with experience in corporate functions to support APEX’s day to day operations in the area of Finance, HR, Facilities, and overall organization and office efficiency, effectiveness and management.

The **Chief Operating Officer **will support the Chief Executive Officer in the delivery of the APEX mandate. This role supports the CEO and the organization through provision of oversight, direction and guidance on all aspects of organization and office management and human resources operations.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for strategic and operational advice and counsel to the CEO
- Ongoing support to CEO in APEX Executive functional directions - including maintenance of functional priorities
- Responsible for APEX strategic HR management, planning, and operations, including all aspects of APEX Executive and permanent staff life cycle (i.e.: staffing of permanent staff and executives on Interchange, performance management process, work descriptions, organizational design)
- Provide strategic advice around permanent staff resourcing and salary benchmarking; development and training; performance and oversee permanent employee terms and conditions
- Strategic oversight and workload management for APEX permanent staff in support of APEX Strategic Plan and mandate and in support of APEX Executives
- Oversee membership and administrative permanent staff and operations
- Lead facilities and oversee leasehold improvements
- Oversee IM structure
- Oversee budget development and annual and long-range financial forecast and planning.

**Requirements**:
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of Business Management, Public Service Management or other related field

Security
- Enhanced security

Experience
- A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in corporate management - including human resources and finance

**Knowledge and Abilities**
- Ability to communicate in both official languages
- Ability to research, interpret, decipher, manage, analyze and organize large amounts of information and communicate complex problems clearly
- Ability to both think critically (out of the box) and also be able to pay attention to details
- Ability to work with some element of ambiguity and establish a path forward, accomplishing assignments/tasks autonomously (as well as in context of team)
- Demonstrate strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
