Momentous is looking for a Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to and partnering with the chief executive officer (CEO), the chief financial officer (CFO) will play a critical role in developing and implementing the financial strategy of Momentous. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO will be an advisor to the divisional CEO’s, evaluating and assisting them with their financial plans and economic modeling. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization. **Responsibilities**: Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer has responsibility for: - **All financial and accounting activities for the company and its related entities.**: - You will direct the general accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and maintenance of financial records. - You will maintain strong internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. - Review current accounting and finance policy and procedures and make necessary changes as well as direct the development and implementation of new financial policies and procedures. - You will be the key contact for all audit and tax advisors, and manage the timeliness, efficiency and cost effectiveness of their work. - You will oversee the maintenance of the corporate books and records, together with annual returns and resolutions. - **Cash management**: - Manage cash flow and forecasting. - Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs. - Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. - Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas. - Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions. - **Payroll & Administration**: - Bi-weekly auditing of payroll processing and benefits. - Oversee the monthly and annual reconciliation of payroll to general ledger. - You will ensure the timely recording of payroll expense. - **Mentor**: - Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. **Experience and Skill requirements**: - At least 5 years experience in a management position. - Thorough knowledge of auditing, financial administration, financial analysis, development of operating and financial control performance measurements and accounting policies and procedures. - Ability to prepare a variety of accounting and financial, administrative and audit statements, records, reports, returns, summaries, estimates, budgets and related data. - A strong business orientation with an in-depth understanding of finance and accounting, enabling anticipation of operational issues and their resolution. - Understanding of operations and appreciation for how timely & accurate transactions can impact the operation. - Ability to analyze and evaluate accounting and financial procedures and systems, and recommend and implement changes and improvements to same as required. - Ability to assist the Accounting personnel in directing departmental operations and to plan, assign, and supervise the work of employees engaged in accounting, clerical, payroll, accounts receivable, collections and related tasks. - Excellent financial systems and spreadsheet skills are required for this position. Knowledge of Business Central an asset. - Technically proficient in the use of information systems, including web-based searches and data interfaces. Web-based banking skills required. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and influencing abilities, with a consultative approach. - Ability to maintain focus to deliver results in an environment having an undercurrent of change and fast pace. - A team player, yet not a "yes person"; willing to challenge in a constructive manner for the good of the organization. - "Hands-on" and self directed with a "get it done" mind-set. - Committed to building a collaborative culture that encourages continuous improvement. **Educational requirements include**: - University degree - Completion of a recognized professional accounting degree preferably a C.A. or a C.G.A., or C.M.A. and several years of related experience in a senior finance or accounting position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. - Membership in a recognized professional accounting society or association. - Experience in strategic planning and execution. - Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. - Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. **NON-SMOKERS ONLY, PLEASE
