The Insurance Team Supervisor at BCM Insurance plays a key role in supporting the sales team, ensuring smooth operations, and driving performance. This position works closely with the Business Development Manager (BDM) to oversee the sales department, provide guidance to Insurance Advisors and Customer Service Representatives (Associates), and maintain high underwriting quality and service standards. The Sales Supervisor is responsible for training, workflow management, quality assurance, and sales team development, contributing to an efficient and customer-focused environment.

QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

- University degree in Business or Communications, or equivalent experience in similar, regulated financial services environments.
- OTL or RIBO licenced.
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), CAIB designation or similar considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills, particularly in identifying insurance related needs
- Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of one’s own work.
- Self-starter with a sense of urgency and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision; intrinsically motivated.
- Demonstrated abilities to lead by example in word and deed.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

- Assist the BDM in driving departmental objectives and action items forward.
- Manage Advisor and Associate vacation scheduling, office presence, and remote work arrangements to maintain adequate coverage.
- Develop and implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain and oversee the Sales Department’s shared network drives, ensuring all required documentation for team members is current and accessible.
- Monitor and manage former team members’ outstanding activities or incoming external communications, ensuring smooth redistribution as needed
- Submit monthly reports to the BDM summarizing changes, achievements, and challenges within the Sales Department.
- Participate in daily communication via MS Teams and engage in sales department meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and priorities.
- Oversee and coordinate outstanding system defects, ensuring accurate documentation and prioritization for resolution alongside of system project manager.
- Develop and implement ongoing recognition initiatives to foster team morale and motivation.
- Lead the Sales Social Committee, organizing events to strengthen team relationships.
- Assist in onboarding new sales team members & ensure a smooth integration into the BCM culture.
- Work closely with the front desk reception in coordinating customer requests among the team members
- Coordinate and document team meetings & training sessions, taking attendance and tracking follow-ups.
- Approve sales department vacation requests alongside the BDM via the PayWorks portal.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, maintaining FSRA guidance compliance.
- Assist in responding to policyholder concerns as required alongside the BDM
- Champion initiatives that align with BCM’s customer experience strategy.

- 6+ years insurance experience
- 5+ years supervisory experience
- 3+ years business development experience, preferably in an insurance or financial services related environment
