We have an existing opportunity to add a Technician/Junior Project Manager to our teamPario is currently seeking a Technician/Junior Project Manager to join our remediation and emergency response team in Waterloo Region. The successful candidate will mentor under an experienced project manager on projects typically related to transportation, residential fuel oil, and commercial chemical spills. The right individual will need to be a dynamic, self-motivated and results-oriented professional. While these projects will involve issuing scientific reports, the main objectives are to mitigate the impact, remediation of the site, and support our clients closing their files, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have a university degree or a college diploma in Environmental Sciences or related study. Experience within the environmental field is not required; however, it would be an asset.Role Responsibilities:Emergency response activities including initial investigation, real time remedial planning, retaining, and managing sub-contractors, cost control, field supervision and documentation under the supervision and guidance of an experienced project manager and/or technical leadThis position will involve spill response, which will include direction of the contractors in the field and organizational and scientific documentation of the remediation as it progressesWhile there will be a wide variety of projects, the primary types will be transportation losses involving diesel fuel or domestic/commercial fuel oil releasesThe successful candidate will be energetic, results oriented and expected to make decisions in the field with support from head officeThe position will require travel and involve periodic evening and week-end work, for which you will be compensatedQualifications & Experience:Degree or a diploma in Environmental Sciences or related study Understanding of soil and groundwater remediation projects including delineation, monitoring and managementStrong verbal and written communication skillsA valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned regionSuccessful candidate must have a flexible schedule; willingness to work after hours on weekends when requiredWhat We Offer:Competitive Pay: $56,300.00 - $78,100.00 CAD Annual.
