_Durham Spine & Pain Institute (DSPI) is a brand-new clinical facility in Ajax, Ontario, located minutes from Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering Hospital. We opened in May 2024 and are seeking like-minded individuals to join our rapidly growing organization._
- DSPI was founded by a group of Physicians with a combined many decades of experience providing patient-centric, multidisciplinary, interventional pain management. **Mandate**:Excellent opportunity to work alongside our team of Pain Physicians, Anesthesiologists, Ortho/ Sports Medicine Physicians and staff specializing in chronic pain management. DSPI is seeking highly organized individuals with strong communication and computer skills to assist with patient care and documentation. Preference will be given to those with education or experience in healthcare, or International Medical Graduates. Responsibilities include:

- Assist Physicians with intake and assessment of new referrals, which includes:

- Review and documentation of relevant health history;
- Review and documentation of current medications;
- Review and documentation of primary pain complaint(s);
- Collection and documentation of vital signs;
- Targeted physical assessment under direction of the physician.
- Communicate findings accurately and precisely to physician;
- Complete requisitions for imaging or lab work;
- Scheduling of appointments;
- May be asked to assist with patient flow and navigation, including taking vital signs pre and post procedure;
- Address patient concerns or questions about procedures;
- Complete other duties as outlined and required by Physicians, Office Manager and Director of Operations.

**Qualifications and requirements**:

- Current BLS certificate and first aid certificate;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English);
- Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail, and accuracy;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Skeletal and anatomical knowledge;
