**JOB DUTIES for General Woodshop Labourer**

**General Duties**:

- Sand parts or surfaces by hand or with power tools.
- Hand file edges of laminated sheets or post laminated products

Assist with the Assembly of millwork products such as store fixtures, reception and office millwork, fitting rooms, checkouts, point of sale counters, Slatwall components and show cases as per supplied project specification.
- Operate woodworking machinery, such as panel & table saws, routers and shapers ( After Proper Training is obtained )
- Use hand tools to cut, file, shape and form parts or product components
- Trim joints, fit parts or subassemblies together, reinforce joints to form complete unit (using glue, clamps, nails, screws or other fasteners)
- Paint various parts or products using a roller and tray. Proper preparation and clean up required.
- Assist with the Installation of decorative or functional hardware as per project or product specifications
- Assist with the repair and refurbish of existing fixtures and related products
- Identify any product flaws, defects that are not to project specifications and report then to the production manager
- Know and understand all government and company safety standards and insure that they are adhered to at all times.
- Know and understand all company quality standards and insure that they are adhered to at all times. ( This is a company core value )
- Meet our customer commitments in a timely, efficient manner while maintaining the highest possible quality standards.
- Ensure the completion of all duties quickly with a minimum of waste or abuse to tool and equipment.

**General Characteristics and Attributes required**:

- Strong attention to detail & ability to maintain this when working under a set timeline
- Efficient in time management with strong organizational & communication skills
- Ability to work alone or with others in a team based environment
- Significant use of memory and continuous learning.
- Full time hours, working with typical woodworking tools, materials and machinery.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be organized with a positive attitude.
- Understanding of all company and ministry set safety and quality standard

Working Conditions:

- Standing for prolonged periods of time, up to 8 hours or more per day.
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs., occasionally heavier with a helper.
- Work area has fluorescent lighting and no air conditioning.
- Noise level is moderate to loud. ( Hearing Protection supplied )
- Exposure to dust, fumes and airborne particles such as wood dust. ( Safety Equipment Supplied as required )

**Own Tools/Equipment**:

- Basic Hand Tools (Employee’s Own)
- Steel-toed safety boots ( Company Allowance Supplied after probation period )
- Safety Glasses (Company Supplied)

Hearing Protection (Company Supplied)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
