**Front Desk Clerk
- Part time to Full time position - Evenings, overnights and weekends**

**Shifts vary between 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM**

**Report to: Building manager and owner**

**Summary**:
The Front desk clerk is responsible for:

- checking in and checking out hotel guests;
- processing payments;
- collecting and distributing keys;
- inspecting rooms upon checkout; and
- ensuring guest satisfaction.

A clerk should have strong interpersonal skills and the proper execution of motel operations. They should provide professional and friendly service for guests and team members. To report any deficiencies and to handle guest requests or complaints in a professional and timely manner.

They should help to achieve goals that support the overall company’s objectives while developing and building relationships.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-24 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening and night shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Work Location: On location

**Qualifications include but are not limited to the following: Is not inclusive of the complete Job Description**:
English required, French an asset.

Must have a minimum of 6-12 months customer service experience

Ability to repeatedly walk, stand, grasp, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 40 lbs.

Pick up/strip all linen/towels from guest rooms as directed

Presorting linens from the chute and salvage stained or torn items

Loading, cleaning and operating commercial washers & dryers

Cleaning of all laundry room equipment and area

Adhere to and knowledgeable of Health & Safety practices

Restock inventory on floors as required

Folding, stacking towels, sheets, linens

Inspecting linens and reporting and logging discards

Correct and proper use of chemicals based WHMIS standards

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and with purpose and urgency

Attention to details

Adhere to all Company, hotel & departmental policies & SOPs

Team player/collaborator

Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic & changing environment

Must have the ability to work & communicate verbally in a professional manner to guest and staff

Must have the ability to express themselves diplomatically with staff and guests

Must be able to work & concentrate in a high-volume area

Must be efficient, well organized and able to handle multiple tasks

Take initiative in all facets
