Quality Assurance Person

**Summary**
The Quality Assurance Person will establish and enforce quality standards and procedures within the facility. The position will ensure that all external and internal requirements are met before cannabis is made available for sale. This role aims to assure the high quality of our operations and services.
**Requirements**:
- have experience in Quality Assurance Management in a similar production environment, proven knowledge and experience related to the duties of the position
- be familiar with the applicable provisions of the Cannabis Act and its Regulations
- possess current Health Canada Security Clearance under the Cannabis Act
- experience with implementation of Quality Management Systems and GPP requirements
- have previous experience with Internal and/or External Regulatory audits
- previous experience with a Canadian Licensed Producer is an asset
- excellent analytical skiils and above average attention to detail
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- detail oriented with excellent decision making and problem solving capability
- flexibility of carrying multiple projects according to priorities in a rapidly changing environment
- ability to self-manage, abillity to fulfill role with minimum supervision and guidance is a must.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- assuring the quality of cannabis before it is made available for sale
- approval of methods and procedures related to GPP
- write, review and maintain SOP's for site facility
- ensure staff are trained on SOP's and GPP, coordinate ongoing training to ensure compliance or re-training where needed
- establish and maintain record keeping systems and ensure employee adherance to proper documentation practices
- review quality complaints and lead investigations including corrective/preventative action and taking measure to mitigate any risk
- ensure testing is conducted on each lot or batch of cannabis before it is made for sale
- ensure testing is conducted using validated methods, investigate deviations and out of spec results
- oversee batch record development/completion and performace of batch record review for release
- collaborate with other departments/key personnel (Master Grower and Responsible Person In Charge/Alternate Responsible Person In Charge) to ensure compliance with regulations
- perform internal audits and vendor evaluation audits on a regular basis or as required to determine quality qualifications. Actively participate in external audits such as regulatory inspections
- perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
- manage and coordinate staff, create deparment efficiencies and provide leadership and support
- perform any additional duties as outlined within specific procedures
**Education Requirements**
- minimum of a science degree or diploma that was obtained in Canada or recognized by a Canadian University/College, professional association or international equivalent
**Additional Training**
- be familiar with the provisions of the Cannabis Act and its Regulations
- have taken, or are willing to take, additional courses/training regarding cannabis operations, cultivation and quality process
