We're currently looking for a Senior Claims Leader to influence and operationalize the strategies and direction for our Surety and Home Warranty (HW) units.

What You’ll Do- Oversee the day to day running of the Surety and HW claims teams, including budget and performance- Accountable for the operation’s financial health (productivity, budget, quality) including analysis and action planning- Understand the financial elements of our claims function to ensure we remain financially strong and deliver year on year improvement in our business performance- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the financial information in the internal systems. Identify and report on any suspicions of fraud or financial irregularities- Lead a team of people leaders to deliver an improvement in their performance, strategy and goals for their teams- Provide support to the Technical Trainer on training opportunities for Claims teams and assist with coaching and mentoring as required.- Monitor team capacity, workload and work assignment; identify opportunities to partner with other lines of businesses- Support planning and manage implementation of national claims initiatives without disruption to the operations.- Provide input to VP in support of future strategic direction and change, including annual business planning and priority setting- Clearly articulate and effectively communicate the link between our business, our goals, the strategy and customer- Look for new and incremental ways to improve things every day for our customers- Create an environment for people to do the best work of their lives and build a stronger team by developing employee’s potential in their current role and for future career aspirations- Foster a culture focused on customer-centricity and technical excellence- Ensure the operational risks Aviva is exposed to are effectively managed.- Collaborate with Underwriting on claims strategy and mitigating losses.

What You’ll Bring- 7-10 years major case claim-handling experience or equivalent- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a team leadership role- Demonstrated track record of developing and/or implementing efficient and effective processes in order to enhance delivery and ensure that goals and objectives are met on a consistent basis.- Comprehensive working level knowledge and skill in Surety and Home Warranty products.- Demonstrated oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and negotiate in a professional manner and to work collaboratively in a team environment- Developing and presenting briefings to senior leadership (EVP, SLT, Results meetings)- Ability and confidence to make independent decisions on most assigned claim files without involvement of SVP- Demonstrated openness to the ideas and expertise of others actively solicits input and shares ideas- Demonstrated coaching, influence and persuasion skills
