We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook and Prep to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook and Prep, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing and cooking food items according to our recipes and standards. You will work closely with the Head Chef and other team members to ensure that all meals are prepared and presented in a timely manner while maintaining high quality and consistency.

**Responsibilities**:
Food Preparation: Follow established recipes and portion controls to accurately measure and assemble ingredients required for cooking.

Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to menu specifications and customer preferences.

Plating and Presentation: Ensure that all food items are plated attractively and presented according to our standards.

Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.

Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages and restocking as needed.

Kitchen Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, utensils, and food storage areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to coordinate cooking and preparation activities during peak times.

Quality Control: Ensure that all food items meet our quality standards by regularly inspecting and tasting dishes for proper seasoning, flavor, and texture.

Efficiency and Timeliness: Manage time effectively to ensure that all food items are prepared and served in a timely manner, minimizing customer wait times.

Menu Suggestions: Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items, suggest improvements to existing recipes, and provide input on menu planning.

**Requirements**:
Culinary Skills: Proven experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook, with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.

Knowledge of Recipes: Familiarity with a variety of culinary recipes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently, paying close attention to portion sizes, cooking times, and presentation.

Food Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, including proper food handling, storage, and hygiene.

Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff members.

Time Management: Efficient time management and multitasking abilities to handle multiple orders and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the business.

Physical Endurance: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy pots and pans, and perform tasks that require repetitive motions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Cambridge, ON N1R 3Z5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
