Solo Cable is currently recruiting **Network Outside Plant Technicians **to join our operations in the Niagaraarea for **permanent, full-time** positions.
- Work focused in Niagara region and surrounding areas but may extend to 200 kilometers
- Head office located in Brantford

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Willing to work over-time and in all weather conditions
- Willing to cross-train and further develop skillsets
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks, managing time efficiently
- Able to do physically demanding work i.e., digging and carrying of heavy equipment
- Ability to complete basic math processes quickly and accurately
- Excellent collaboration/communication skills; able to communicate and receive direction from others
- Must be safety conscious
- Mechanically inclined; able to maintain company trucks, machinery or tools assigned, trouble-shoot, repair and replace when appropriate
- Geographical knowledge sufficient to read maps and follow directions
- Read and understand blueprints, utility locate markings, schematics and manuals, gauges, dials, and other indicators and adjust as necessary
- Able to understand instructions and underlying principles in the telecommunication industry
- Competent problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service
- Able to work efficiently with mínimal supervision; self-motivated, disciplined, organized and a team player

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate lashing machine or other lineman equipment for aerial cable and fiber
- Outside Plant (OSP) line construction with coax, copper and fiber cables, including audits, maintenance and installations
- Operate vehicle-mounted aerial devices
- Troubleshoot areas for outages, faulty cables and/or damaged equipment, diagnose network problems and repair in a timely manner
- Complete Construction Verification Process and documentation of accurate data from completed projects
- Place steel strand, down guys and anchors for aerial fiber cable construction
- When required, assist other crews with maintenance, installation, repair of Fiber Networks and any associated landscape restoration of customer property that may be required

- **Clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR Abstract to be insurable**:

- **Must be eligible to work in Canada**:

- **Language: fluent in English**:

- **Must provide own steel toed safety boots and work pants**:

- **Minimum 1 year experience in outside plant installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks**:

- **Previous experience working in construction and maintenance of telecommunications an asset**
