**Shop Labourer/Plant Operator**

**Job description**:
**Job Type**: Full-Time

Job Location: Metro Vancouver

**Salary**: $25 -$29/ Hour

Labourers/Operators perform general duties in the plant facilities. Duties include operating basic hand tools, pipe fitting, shipping/receiving, forklift operation, and assisting in the daily operations of the plant. Housekeeping and material handling are also components of this position. All tools, PPE (excluding steel-toed boots), and specialized equipment training will be provided on the job.

**Responsibilities**:

- Handle Materials - within the shop and outdoors as required.
- Perform Housekeeping Duties
- Operate Basic Hand Tools and Powered Hand Tools. i.e., Drills, Disc Grinders, etc.
- Operate plant equipment.
- Grinding Mills
- Filter Press
- Material Handling Equipment for Hazardous Chemicals
- Pumps and Valves
- Perform work safely and follow established work procedures.
- To not abuse equipment and report equipment that requires servicing or repair.
- Perform General Tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

**Qualifications**:

- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Knowledge and respect of shop safety
- Able to perform physically demanding work.
- Strong intrapersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in hot environments (peak indoor temperatures during summertime expected around 35c)
- Forklift experience (Forklift ticket and asset but not required)

**Minimum Job Requirements**:

- Steel Toed Boots
- Suitable attire for a shop environment
- Availability to work overtime.
- Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic.
