TLC offers over 20,000 certified reference standards from stock and we add approximately 2000 new standards yearly. Our product line includes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), drug impurities, amino acid/peptide drug standards, metabolite standards, as well as their stable isotope labelled analogues.

**General Summary**:
The Purchaser will be responsible for procuring materials to fulfill the company’s operational needs. Additionally, the Purchaser will also be required to:

- Negotiate pricing with vendors and analyze quotes from existing and new vendors.
- Evaluate existing vendors for service and reliability
- Qualify and approve new vendors
- Ensure the purchasing needs of all departments are promptly taken care of
- Manage and keep track of the database for chemical and office inventories

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that equipment & inventory purchase requests are executed in a timely manner.
- Order materials regularly and release purchase orders as per the company’s requirements.
- Responsible for effective cost savings and negotiating with vendors to meet target budgets
- Working on process improvement initiatives to improve daily operations and reduce inefficiencies.
- Communicate any delivery issues with related departments as soon as they are known.
- Evaluate vendors based on product quality, pricing, delivery times, service, and keep track of all issues.
- Responsible for maintaining Supplier agreements and deliverables.
- Responsible to resolve any shortages or discrepancies on received materials with accounting
- Responsible for bi-annual review of stocks levels
- Periodically check with alternate vendor quotes to ensure competitiveness of existing vendors.
- Negotiate price with vendors and maintaining vendor pricing records as needed for analysis.
- Review open purchase orders to reduce or increase quantities as necessary.
- Communicate with Quality Assurance and other related departments regarding any issues and rejections with vendors.
- Follow SOP on regular basis to be in compliance.
- Complete all training assignments and maintain personal training records
- Other duties as assigned

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- University or College degree in business or a similar field. Chemistry background is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word and other computer programs
- Can familiarize and understand the needs of different business departments of an organization
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team-based environment but also work independently when needed
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proactive attitude and forward thinking mindset.
- Attention to detail
