**What we need**:
The York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program is administered by Oak Valley Health (OVH). We provide a coordinated community based speech and language service for children, birth to kindergarten entry. The program engages in collaborative service delivery with other community agencies such as Early Intervention Services, the Children’s Treatment Network and the York-Simcoe Autism Network. Flexibility to provide services across York Region and in a variety of settings (e.g., clinic, child care centres, entry to school programs, virtual) is required. These positions will include providing school based rehabilitation services for children in kindergarten through a partnership with the Children’s Treatment Network.
Responsibilities include:
- carrying a caseload of children under the supervision of Speech Language Pathologists
- providing group and paired therapy
- supporting families on our wait list through phone calls and evening workshops
- home/child care consultation visits
- school-based intervention for children in kindergarten
- position will include supporting children with special needs
- preparation work - including boardmaker material, parent education material and therapy materials
- general office support
- Current position may include providing virtual and in-person services

Salary Band YRSLP03: Ranges from $27.87-33.03 per hour
**What you bring to Oak Valley Health**:
- Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma
- Previous experience with children with special needs
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the team
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to offer services in more than one language is highly preferred
- Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
