**HOUSEKEEPER**

**Job Summary**

Responsible for the housekeeping services at 92 Charlotte Street. Keep the building in clean, sanitary, safe and orderly condition. You would have to perform light cleaning duties such as dusting keyboards and cleaning glass, as well as heavy cleaning duties such as garbage removal and floor maintenance.

**Hours of Work**

We are looking for a cleaner to come in 3-5 times a week, for about 4 hours a day. You could come in to do the necessary cleaning at any time **outside of our business hours** (8:30AM - 4:30PM), so flexibility is an utmost importance.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Vacuuming carpeted floor areas.
- Setting all furnishings and decor to original setting after completion of floor maintenance.
- Dusting and wiping down all surfaces (unless indicated otherwise)
- Sanitize and disinfect all commonly used surfaces to abide by COVID19 cleanliness protocols.
- Clean, sanitize and disinfect all washroom and kitchen appliances and sinks
- Removal of cobwebs
- Dusting only of computer equipment (monitors, keyboard, mouse)
- Spot clean all inside windows, including glass on office doors.
- Gathering garbage, recycling / compost and put out to curb for garbage day. Return all bins to their designated area.
- Follow cleaning schedule prepared by the organization.

Other Duties
- Champion vision, mission and values of Port Care.
- Participate in the maintenance of a safe, clean, sanitary and safe working environment. Furthermore, abide by COVID19 standards set out by the organization.
- Observe all fire and safety rules and be on the alert or safety of clients, staff and the public.
- Ensure confidential information is secure at all times and client privacy and confidentiality is maintained according to Personal Privacy Regulations.
- Ensure the needs of disabled clients are met with respect and dignity.
- Work as part of the Port Cares team to promote a positive image within the community.
- As appropriate participate in Port Cares functions/fundraising activities.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Port Cares.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in cleaning.
- **Niagara Regional Police Clearance Certification required.**:

- **Valid COVID19 vaccinations (must be considered fully vaccinated according to Health Canada standards)**:

- Ability and willingness to lift upwards to 20 pounds, potentially more.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

**Working Conditions**
- Climate controlled office environment.
- May require repetitive tasks, lifting, bending, and moving heavy objects. Furthermore, may require being on your feet for the entire shift.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-20 per week

**Salary**: From $17.45 per hour
