Reporting to the Manager, Digital Health Projects, the eHealth Development Team Lead undertakes all functions of an eHealth Full Stack Developer, while also leading the day-to-day work of a project development team. Projects are primarily conducted on behalf of industry partners/clients.

Responsibilities include directing the day-to-day activities of the other MEDIC project team members, including full-time staff, co-operative education students, and contractors. S/he provides leadership with respect to partner/client communications, including arranging meetings, defining requirements, and reviewing specifications and development outcomes with the partner.

**What you’ll be doing**:
**Meets all duties and responsibilities of an eHealth Full Stack Developer.**

**In addition, leads technology development projects for partners/clients**:

- Directs the day-to-day activities of the rest of the project development team, including full-time staff, students co-ops and contractors.
- Arranges and manages project status, review and work planning meetings with the project partner/client.
- Is considered by the partner/client to be the primary contact for day-to-day project communications between MEDIC and the partner/client.
- Is responsible for identifying the need for input or intervention by senior MEDIC ehealth technologists and engages directly with them or through the Manager, Digital Health Projects.
- Works closely with the Manager, Digital Health Projects, to plan work and report on progress.
- Works closely with the eHealth Senior Architect to ensure compliance to technology development standards, including ehealth legislative requirements.
- Works closely with the eHealth Business Analyst, if applicable to the particular project, to ensure compliance to business solution requirements.
- Provides input to ongoing evolution of technology requirements and system design, working closely with MEDIC senior ehealth technologists.
- Maintains project tracking and status data including the Agile ticketing and sprint management system.
- Where required, conforms to international health information data exchange standards and organizations such as HL7 and IHE, as well as PHI protection legislation such as PHIPA and HIPAA.
- Follows appropriate methodologies, including Agile Software Development and MEDIC’s design and coding standards, to ensure that all software services meet quality and best practices as prescribed by IDEAWORKS. Ensures that development documentation is maintained and accurate.
- Creates test plans and ensures that tests are completed and are of satisfactory quality.
- Uses the source control system and work item tracking system to ensure that all time worked and feature effort is tracked.

**Analyses Application Requirements/Specifications.**
- Maintains a working knowledge of major information technologies and platforms and their capabilities.
- Creates iteration and project plans based on the requirements and functional design specifications (FDS), ensures that features within the FDS are implemented and delivered.
- Responsible for the documenting of the “as-built” system with the help of co-op students and team members, where appropriate.
- Uses the work item tracking system to assign work to co-op students for each iteration.

**Researches new technologies and practices and advises the eHealth Senior Architect on new and upcoming technologies relevant to digital health projects**
- Reads computer journals and whitepapers on a regular basis.
- Experiments with technologies to broaden understanding and experience.
- Creates technical summaries for the eHealth Senior Architect as required.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- A minimum of 3 year post-secondary education in Computer Software Analysis & Design or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A Canada Health Info Way Standards, Health Level Seven, or Equivalent International Health Standards Technology Certification or experience would be considered an asset.
- Certification in Scrum/Agile methodologies would be considered an asset.
